RESOLUTION NO. 3895 Passed November 17, 2025 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF BOWLING GREEN TO BECOME A POWER A CLEAN FUTURE OHIO COMMUNITY WHEREAS, Power a Clean Future Ohio (PCFO) is an expansive, diverse coalition engaging with cities and local governments across the state of Ohio to build a clean future for our communities, and empowers local leaders with tools and resources to create carbon reduction plans and implement them in ways that are achievable, measurable, equitable, and economical; and WHEREAS, local governments have the unique opportunity to achieve energy efficiency and carbon emission reductions and cost savings through building and facilities management; land use and transportation planning; and through economic and community development; and WHEREAS, efforts to address energy and climate issues provide an opportunity to move toward greater community resiliency and quality of life; provide environmentally healthy and cheaper-to- operate public buildings, encourage new economic development and local jobs; and support local renewable energy production; and WHEREAS, the Bowling Green City Council passed Resolution #3799 on July 19, 2021, calling for a Sustainability & Climate Action Plan. The Plan, subsequently renamed the Climate Action and Resiliency Improvement Plan (CARIP), was developed by the Climate Action Planning Committee; and WHEREAS, the Bowling Green City Council passed Resolution #3799 on June 2, 2025, adopting and enacting the CARIP; and WHEREAS, the Power a Clean Future Ohio provides technical assistance, tools, new partners, and resources to implement climate action planning and initiatives: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWLING GREEN OHIO THAT: SECTION 1: The City of Bowling Green is hereby authorized to participate in Power a Clean Future Ohio that offers a free, voluntary continuous improvement framework. Passage of this participation resolution allows the City to be recognized as a Power a Clean Future Community. SECTION 2. The City of Bowling Green appoints the City's Sustainability Coordinator to serve as the City's PCFO coordinator and main point of contact for initiatives and potential funding opportunities that support the implementation of the CARIP. SECTION 3. This resolution takes effect at the earliest time permitted by law.
