Notice of Oil and Gas Lease Forfeiture Pursuant to Section 5301.332 of the Ohio Revised Code Notice is hereby given to George E. Lorenz and his unknown heirs, successors, and assigns of the following: Victoria Lynn Busch, individually and as trustee of the Victoria L. Busch Charitable Remainder Trust, together with Midland Agency of Northwest Ohio, Inc., Trustee (collectively, the “Landowners”), are current lessors under an Oil and Gas Lease by and between Molly Wollenbecker (sometimes referred to as Molly Wallenbecker or Mary Mollenbecker), as lessor, and L.D. Spafford and J.E. Pope, as lessees, dated June 17, 1893, and recorded at Lease Record Volume R, Page 106 of the Recorder’s Office of Wood County, Ohio (the “Lease”). The Lease covers the following premises: “A lot of land situated in the Township of Middleton, County of Wood, in the State of Ohio, and is described as follows to wit; Bounded on the South by lands of A. Fausnaught, On the North by lands of L.D. Spafford, On the West by Geo Neageles lands, On the East by lands owned by Mrs. Smith, Section Number 29, Township Number 6, Range Number 11, containing 40 acres, more or less.” The Lease has a primary term of 6 months, with an option to extend the Lease for one additional term of 6 months, and continues so long thereafter as oil or gas is found or produced from the leasehold premises or the rental paid according to the terms of the Lease. If a well is not completed on the leasehold premises within 6 months from the date of the Lease or within one year from the date of the Lease, if the term of the Lease was extended, the grant therein becomes null and void. Based on a title search of the public records of Wood County, Ohio, George E. Lorenz is the successor or assign of L.D. Spafford and J.E. Pope. Landowners are the current owners of Parcel No. J36-611-290000007000, containing 65.15 acres, more or less, and Parcel No. J36-611-290000008000, containing 25.4 acres, more or less, both located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 6, Range 11, Middleton Township, Wood County, Ohio, as described in a General Warranty Deed dated June 1, 2026, and filed of record as Instrument Number 202606474 of the Recorder’s Office of Wood County, Ohio. The foregoing property comprises a portion of the leasehold premises. Pursuant to Section 5301.332 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Lease has been forfeited as there are no producing or drilling oil or gas wells on the leasehold premises and (i) covenants of the Lease regarding the drilling of a well and payment of delay rentals have been breached; (ii) covenants of the Lease regarding production have been breached; and/or (iii) the term of the Lease has expired. Landowners intend to file for record an affidavit of forfeiture with the Wood County, Ohio Recorder’s Office if the parties being notified hereby do not release the Lease of record within thirty (30) days of the publication of this notice.
